All Female Song Writing Camps
About Us
sheWrites began as a mission to bring the best and most promising female producers and writers around the world to create undeniable, brilliantly crafted commercial music with female artists.
Now in its third year, we have hosted camps in London, Tokyo, LA, Nashville, Stockholm and Berlin with hundreds of women from around the world, producing major label cuts and global sync campaigns.
Our camps connect professional creatives who together continue to write hits and make records long after the sessions themselves, helping to rebalance opportunities for female identifying talent in the studio, and answering the question asked too many times: ‘What does music made by women actually sound like?’.
Our camps are all-inclusive, we welcome the wider female and non-binary LGBTQ community and we work hard to ensure they are environmentally friendly and as sustainable as possible.

We work with labels, publishers, companies and artists directly to curate custom all-female writing camps – please contact us for more details. We also consult for industry teams who are looking to improve their gender balance on camps of their own, or other projects.

We claim no copyright over any songs written at the camp, all writers retain their own publishing rights.
sheWrites charge no application or admittance fees – the camp is by invitation only, although all can apply, participation is based purely on merit.
We co-ordinate with our writers and producers each day, curating writing groups and supplying briefs from our partners.
Who We Are
CHARLIE MCCLEAN
Co-founder/Co-ordinator
Charlie is a producer, engineer and songwriter based in London and Hamburg. A multi instrumentalist hailing from a classical background, she switched to the other side of the console mentored by to pop legends Biff Stannard and Ash Howes, and legendary innovator Rupert Hine. She has worked for artists including One Direction, Little Mix, Leona Lewis, Ellie Goulding, and many more.
VIOLET SKIES
Co-founder/Co-ordinator
Singer/songwriter Violet Skies comes from a small town in South Wales. She writes and performs internationally as a solo artist, and has co-written for a host of established artists including Mabel, Tiesto, LEON, Miriam Bryant and more.
